iddleton,
Dear Rastus:
I've been wanting to vrite to you for some time, but I
didn't know what to call you till the program of your banquet
was published. I've heard about your institution ever since
I was a frosh, and I've always wondered what T. N. Z. meant,
but, every time I asked anybody they just turned away their
head and smiled, and it's only just lately -that I found out.
and since I found out I have wanted to join. I don't
know how a person gets into a frat, especially an honorary
one, but I suppose some sort of an application has to be
made, and that's why I'm writing you. I'd like a.T'ully
well to be able to write "T. N. E." after my name in the
BtDC&R, and I know it would make my father and mother very
proud because I am Pre3ident of the Y M. C. A. too, you
know, and this ould be that much more.
If you will only consider my name for membership I
omise you I ::on't :ive away any secrets about *grips" or
"high signs" or anything, and if you require any recor:irand-
ations as to character or anything I know I can get Frederic
E. Wolf to write me one. Hoping you will consider this
application favorably, I remain,
humbly yours,
"AND IN THYdJOYOUS ERRAND RERCH THE SPOT
