Dear Mr. Janzent
Pursuant to our telephone oonversation of a few
minutes ago* I am attaohing a oopy of Professor Aldo
Lopoldts letter for your Information.
Mr. Hoohbaum has estlmated that approxi atel
10 pr cont of the birds should be removed. I believe
the beet way to do that is to ship the Oull birds to
Poynette for final disposal.
I shall appreciate It If you on arrange for an
Immediate Issuano of a federal permit to W. S. Feeney,
unirsity arboretum Madi son, Wisonsin, to take not
to xceed 200 wild duoks. The majority of these are
Mallar s. There are a few lacoks, however, one or two
Pintails and, I believe, one Bal pate with them.
As soon as Mr. Feeney gets his federal permit, I
will rooommend the Issuance of the state permlt.
Inasmuch as you believe the birds should be banded
with biologioal survey bmns, oan you arrange to ship
Aido Leopold 150 of these.
