looking sun-shade, we woke up this morning to find it
raining hard. The snow-topped mountains entirely out
of sight; my young lady got back into winter clothing,
and is wearing her sweater and long coat to keep warm.
It has rained steadily all day. We just went down on
the terrace and had a cup of chocolate to get warned up.
I have been putting in my time to-day sewing--buttons,
hooks, etc., etc., and have attended to several repairs
that I have had in mind for sometime; so the day has
not been long for me. Nan took a nap this morning and
another this afternoon and read between times. This
Pension has quite a library, and there are quite a number
of novels, presented by departing guests, about one thousand.
The people keep coming and going, and I think thie house
is quite 'full now, for we saw some people going off,
who had been driving all day, and did not like the rooms
offered them here; so notwithstanding the rain, they
went to look elsewhere. We had a visit from a young lady
last evening who is here with her Father. They live in
New York and have just come from St. Petersburg, Russia,
and Moscow. She told us of her experiences and brought
in her purchases to show us. Very beautiful things. We
showed her our collection up to date,but it didn't show
