Framed featherwork wreath from Buchanan family, Viroqua, probably late nineteenth century. Circular wreath made up of flowers formed from feathers. A polychrome lithographic print depicting what appears to be an Italian landscape is at the center. Mounted on pink paper and presented in original gilded shadow box frame.
This wreath came from the home of Orrin L. Buchanan and Katherine Reed Buchanan. The couple married in 1902 and appear in the 1910 federal census for Readstown, Vernon County and the 1930 federal census for Viroqua, Wisconsin. The wreath came to the Vernon County Historical Society from their daughter, Marjorie Buchanan Chase. As of 2011, it was on view in the parlor of the Sherry-Butt House, Viroqua.
