Cincinnati and New York: The Strobridge Lithographic Company
Across the top the caption reads "The Colonial Theatre Company Presents" and below that in much larger letters is "Etienne Girardot" followed by "in Francis Wilson's Comedy The Bachelor's Baby." The image shows Girardot seated on the floor across from a female child and smiling at her. The caption at bottom repeats Baby Davis's line from the play, "Theres one thing I want to ast [sic] you?"
This was Wilson's most popular work, running for 192 performances at the Criterion Theatre in New York in 1909-10 with Wilson in the role of Thomas Beech. In 1910 it was made into a one-reeler for Vitagraph. Wilson was sued for use of the title by the estate of Coyne Fletcher, who had written a novel with the same title.
