Visual display of the Two Blue Hmong women in northern Thailand

Two Blue Hmong women in northern Thailand

  • January 1970
  • Two Blue Hmong (Hmong Njua) women are seated in front of their house embroidering and sewing. The name of the village, in the vicinity of Chiang Mai, Thailand, is not known. The women wear pleated skirts of indigo batik design along with dark blue leggings. Their hairstyle is such that they do not wear head wrappings, but comb their hair to the top of their heads to look like a nest.
