OTHER INFORMATION: Ways - 3231; Ran in the St. Louis-Keokuk trade until 1853. She was in retirement when one of the other boats in the line sank. She was loaded up ready to depart for Keokuk, filling in for the lost boat, when her boilers exploded. Six people were killed and many others were wounded. This same set of boilers had previously suffered a flue collapse at Canton, also causing loss of life
