A Manitowoc Herald Times newspaper article describing the November 3, 1945 wedding of Madeline Sweet and Paul Grubic is typical of wedding announcements published in the newspaper during and after World War II. As described in the article and shown in the accompanying picture, the bride wore a plaid suit and a corsage. The groom, who had just been discharged from active military service, wore his uniform. They were married at the Wesley Methodist Church rectory, 1130 South Ninth Street. The article appeared in the November 5, 1945 edition of the newspaper, and the photograph was published separately three days later in the November 8 edition. An invitation to the Grubic's wedding reception, held at Freddy Brick's Hall in downtown Manitowoc, is also included in this digital "Home Front" collection.
