The National Socialists gathered each year in Nürnberg for their annual convention, but the party-gathering planned for 1939 never met: ironically described on the address-side of Card 228 as "the Party Congress of Peace," and scheduled to convene on 2 September,it was interrupted on the eve of its opening by Hitler's invasion of Poland. The medal pictured on this postcard is a National Socialist allegory of peace sculpted by Richard Klein, the same artist who designed the logo for the exhibition of "Great German Art" reproduced on Card 208.
