spanish brown & yellow oaker [ochre]
of each alike quantity grinded
with size pretty strong for brown

Umber is a dark brown when
burnt itt [it] inclines more to black
for a walnuttroo [walnut] color in paint
burnt umber mitigated with whit [white]
Lead which is ye [the] comon [common] white and
used with burnt umber
ye [the] cheapest way of painteing [painting] & readyest [readiest]
is to goo [go] your work over with strong
sise [size] made of specks or glue when dry
your other color ground with lintseed [linseed]
