—A comprehensive report recommending a program to curb pollution of
the Willamette River Basin was completed by the 
 
Federal Water Pollution Control Administration. Estimated cost of the proposed
20-year pollution reduction program would be about $105 million. 
 The State of Oregon was given $18,130 by the Federal Water Resources Council
as an initial planning grant under the Water Resources Planning Act of 1966.
