- The intersection of North Eighth and State Streets is nicknamed Holy Hill because of the number of churches nearby. On the lower left is St. James Episcopal Church, upper left is the First Presbyterian Church; just visible on the right is the Synagogue Anshe Poale Zedek. The northeastern corner is home to First Lutheran Church. East on State Street is Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Seventh Street is home to the Hmong Alliance Church.
