Dear Dr. Leopold,

My congratulations on your new office have been delayed
because I thought that I would be able to congratulate you at the
same time that I reported on someof the last duties of my office.
I wnt to congratulate you on being selected as President but even more
to congratulate the Society on having you for their President this
year.

Because of the excellent assistance and cooperation of
Dr. Dreyer and also the cooperation of tnose in attendance at the
annual business meeting I believe that we are turning over tae
business of the Society in pretty good shape. I have followed Dr.
Dreyer's outline of tne minutes of the meeting on which ne indicated
tne actions which I should take and the actions which should be
takcen by the President. I left tne decision on these matters to
him but hope that I nave not assumed too many duties.

I am including in this letter copies of action taken as
well as copies of letters which I think you should see. Dr. Dreyer
has a complete record of the actions of the Executive Committee
which will be helpful in tne conduct of business during tne year
and at the close of the year. If you nave any further questions
which you think I can answer relative to the duties of the office,
please advise me.
                                         Sincerely yours,

                                      /00 J. M. Aikman
