         Dear Mr. Main:
I am glad to hear from you and have read the mnamet plan

         outline with interest.

It is hard for me to oommet beoomse more depes on the
human beings who omupile these plans than on the outlnes for th.

I well rall, theug. that in the adinistration of the Hationl
7orests there was a decade when a geat deal of energy was invested
in
management plans, and when the plan rather than the forest became
the
objective needless to say this investment was not ve profit&able.

Tere Is one omission that I notice, namel pheaologial
tables. I should think it would be of rat importan to keep
rerds
from the outset of the ohrouolo&7 of year in tes of veetation,

a4rieultare and wildl fe. A brief speificatioen for phonolgical
tables
         is given in ~OWN Mane*ent,' page 165.

I em not clear whether you are askin me for naes of sitable

men for the Alberta projeot. In an case. I do not know w really

able men who are unepled at this time. I cold gve you namas of
men who already have jtobs and whom you might try to interest in
you

I was such pleased to have a chance for a real visit with
you
and hope that we can keep in touch.

                  With personal rWds,

                                       Yours sincerely#
