                   Prof. Aldo Leopold
                   424 University Farm Place
                   Madison, Wisconsin

                   Dear Aldoz

Ihave a copy of your letter to Frank
Craighead.

I hope that you didn't get the impression
that
I was passing the huck to you on the Craighead deal. I
had
no such intention. My only purpose in handing you that
letter
was to have you consider it from a technical standpoint

because I feel that it is useless for us to worry about
the
possibility of financing a proposition until it has had
your
technical okeh. When this is acquired then we can worry
about
                   the finances.

I appreciate your writing Frank but I
had
figured on taking care of that end of it, relieving you
of
any disagreeable job of turning a man down.

I will probably send you more such projects

for consideration but just wanted to let you know how
I felt
about it. You have enough to worry about without answering
a
lot of unnecessary correspondence of this nature. So,
when any
more are passed on to you you won't have to make the alibis.

Best regards and thanks a lot.

                                                           Sincerely yours,

                                                           C. M. Palmer,
Jr.
                                                           Secretary
                   F:g

                   P. S. I take it that you approve of this project if funds
are
available. Am I correct in this assumption?
