At the last meeting of the Board of Directors, our Comittee was
instrucotd to Investigate the possibilities of printing the Journl at a
cheaper pri-o, Consequently, I have eceived bids fr.- two other printers,

based on no. 3 of vol. 2*2 These are attached ailong with the actual csot

to the Soiety of publishing this particular nber.

it should be explained that the estimate of the Lanaster Press
is based on using Carfax Mgi o. I paper, hemee obviating the use
of coated inserts for halt tones* Te save paper. the size ot the journal

woud trim te C.4/4 x 10 Inhes, rather than the present eise of 6-7/S x
10 incobs, also, it in proposed that the ason of the formt be increased
to 29 x 46 pleas (present size is 28 x 45 pleas). If Oxord English No. 2

paper is used, a further saving can be had. Seaples of the two grdes of
paper are ealosedo iNe were urged by both printers to stick to standard
grades of paper In these times of paper shortage, hence we have had no
bids based on use of the University of Michigan formula, althoughi the
possibility of using this paper was Investigated.
