          At the annual business meeting of the Eoolog-oal Iicieety 
in Botton the Society authorized the appointment of a co=ittee to 
work with the Niatioal 1oseareh Council in developing tbe proposed 
Institrut of Biologists. 
 
          After consultation with members of the Ezeattve Comwittee 
and others, it vs decided that ~r. w. A. D~yton, our representative 
to the Biolorists Unieo, be requested to serve as ohb&an of this 
new committee and that Dr. T. C. Nelson, the Soeipty representatiye 
of the National Researoh (Onoll, should be a zeeond member of this 
committ. I am hereby appointing you to serve as the third =ember 
of this commwttee and trust that you will be able to do see 
 
          Dr. Dyton will be gettinr in touch with you in the near 
fixture to mke arm enerts for the orgn&iR*±4on of the eomuittee

and to plan the prt which this eomittee of the ociety can play in 
the development of the propsed  nsmtitute of Tqiolovipts. A letter 
of aooeptanoe of this appointment will be much appreciated sinee I 
unt to be able soon to report to President Leopold of the Boologioal 
Society the completion of these last assimed duties of my offiee,
