- S.S. Badger at the dock. South Lakeview Drive From May to October, the S.S. Badger provides car ferry service on Lake Michigan between Manitowoc and Ludington, Michigan. A substantial portion of the tourism dollars entering Manitowoc are due to the car ferry.
