There was a long linet of carriates waitiin to
convey the tourists up the hill, ,when we landed from
the tender. They took us firot to the church of St.
John, and then to the Museum. The church containz many
tombs of the Knights and rmany mosaics and marblco.
One large statre of "St. John Baptising Christ" made
of one solid piece of marble and a large :,ainting of
ti "Beheading of St. John" by Caravaggio are the f inest
things in the church. The .Chapel of the Holy Sacr.-
ment has a railing :ade o  a celin   ilvr. T     Church
is very much decorated.
