Dish

The front is coated with a purple-black engobe and decorated with white and reddish-orange slip. Some manganese residue and clear lead glaze are on the back. Several other pieces of slipware by this decorator are known. His palate and motifs resemble work by decorators of contemporary Berks County, Pennsylvania chests.
