Circa 1916 navy blue wool bloomer-style lady’s one-piece gym costume that fastens at the front with a snap. There is a brown polished cotton waistband inside and a collar area that is also lined with same polished cotton. The top fastens off center at left with full sleeves that fall to the elbow. The legs are very full and gathered at the knees. The original elastic has lost its elasticity. This would have been worn for taking exercise at a gymnasium or school but would not have been worn in any co-ed situation. Gymbloom Suit made exclusively by J.W. Knitt, Lansing, Michigan.
