  • The front of this dish is coated with a purple-black engobe and decorated with white and reddish-orange slip. Some manganese residue and clear lead glaze are on the back. Variants of the stylized leaf and flower motif in the center occur on other examples of slipware in the St. Asaph’s tradition.
