The commitment by Rusk County for pro-
viding quality health care has allowed for
continued growth of our hospital and nurs-
ing home. Rusk County Memorial Hospital
and Nursing Home has become an integral
part of the health care delivery system of
Rusk County and surrounding areas.
Presently there are 41 hospital beds and 117
nursing home beds, all licensed for providing
skilled care. In addition to the standard
medical-surgical services, the hospital has a
very sophisticated special care unit to meet
the needs of patients requiring intensive or
coronary care. Our obstetrical unit and its
family-centered philosophies have brought
patients to our facility from distances
beyond our normal service area. To provide
quality health care, we have grown to 235
employees which are dedicated to the nurs-
ing home residents and the hospital patients
who entrust themselves to our care.
Governance for Rusk County Memorial
Hospital and Nursing Home is provided
by a 9-member Board of Trustees
appointed by the Rusk County Board of
Supervisors.

Marshfield Clinic-Ladysmith Center con-
sists of a team of physicians and support
staff who have joined together in the private
practice of medicine. Their goal is to provide
the highest possible standard of comprehen-
sive medical care by bringing combined
training and experience of the center's
physician to each patient's medical problem.
The Marshfield Clinic-Ladysmith Center
was founded in 1977 as an affiliate of
Marshfield Clinic. It was started originally
with 3 physicians and has now grown to 11
full-time physicians. The affiliation resulted
from the efforts of a committee from Rusk
County which sought a permanent group
medical practice to serve the health care
needs of area families.
