• The front of this dish is decorated with purple-black slip and coated with a clear lead glaze. Several dishes with related decoration have recovery histories in the central piedmont region of North Carolina. This example was originally sold by a Greensboro, North Carolina dealer, who was a source for Joe Kindig, Jr. Many of the slipware dishes in the Old Salem, Henry Ford Museum, and Barnes Foundation collections came from Kindig.
