upper, left-hand corner of the page, attracted attention by its decoration
and
ornament as well as by the rich, even coloring of the body of the piece;
these
latter qualities being difficult to obtain on large surfaces. The handles
of the
vase are ram's heads, modeled after nature.  Between them   are suspended
garlands, so disposed as to form frames for the medallion portraits that
enrich
