Summary

• This 8" x 10" Manitowoc Police Department photograph was taken at 12:15 p.m. on April 18, 1946 to document an automobile accident that had occurred at the intersection of Circle and Straight Streets in the Custerdale housing development on the west side of Manitowoc. The view is from the intersection looking to the north, with typical Custerdale housing units in the background. A small crowd of onlookers includes a number of children. The officer with his back to the camera, wearing a uniform with knickers, is Sergeant George Tulach from the Manitowoc Police Department. Automobiles involved in the accident were a Buick and an Oldsmobile. A 5" x 6" police data card with details for evidence is affixed to the back of the photograph.
