Well equipped postal and telegraph stations bring the outside
world within the city limits.

Plymouth has two cemeteries, one in the city and another
outside the city limits. .

The city has had a high school since 1877; originally
this had a three-year program, but since 1890 this has been
extended to four years. Professor W.J. Brier served as
principal of the school until 1866; since that time, Mr. 0O.
Gaffron has held this post. The high school was opened with
a roll of 40 votaries of knowledge, both boys and girls; now
there are 120, of whom 50 do not live in Plymouth township.
Connected with this school is the public school, as well as a
kindergarten; the principal of the latter is presently Miss
| De Noyer. A school library was established in 1893; this now
comprises about 500 volumes.
