After everyone had recovered from Christmas sweets we started in on
basketball practice. The girls were anxious to play basketball and climbed
130
steps to the upper gym for practice every Monday and Wednesday, to receive
the
honor of playing on their class teams. Those teams elected were:

Spring came early this year and with it came cries of "Home Run,"
"Throw
it to second," etc. After scrambling through coal fields and sandpiles
one reaches
the field where not only are the girls trotting around after the ball, but
where the
university horses are getting their exercise.
Although teams have not been chosen, the enthusiasm of the girls for base-

ball shows that there will be four "crackerjack" class teams.
