"Réplique" perfume bottles

  • 1950-1969
  • Two glass bottles of Raphaelʼs "Réplique." The perfume bottles have their original paper labels with the signature "Réplique" in script and the glass tulip shaped stoppers with the etched monogramed "R." The bottles have some remaining perfume with sediment. Left: The bottom of the bottle is embossed and reads, "Raphael, Made in France." The bottle's dimensions are 1 1/2" x 2 1/4" x 1 1/4". Right: The bottle has its original gold cording in place with the red wax seal. The bottom is stamped, "Raphael, Made in France, Paris." The bottle's dimensions are 2" x 2 1/2" by 1 1/4", plus stopper. "Réplique" was established in Paris in 1930 and launched in the United States in 1946. Both belonged to Vivette Ravel Rifkin, mother of the collector and had been a gift from her sister, Ruth Ravel Dawe, upon her return from European travels.
