The cover of the June 1943 issue of Mixing Bowl, the Aluminum Goods Manufacturing Company’s employee newsletter, shows droppable bomber fuel tanks in production on an AGM assembly line. A number of the employees working on the tanks, which were destined for use in TBF Avenger torpedo bombers, are women. During World War II, Aluminum Goods Manufacturing Company, known locally as "The Goods," produced more than 400 different types of items for the armed forces, including cartridge cases, radar parts, canteens and cooking sets, and these large airplane fuel tanks. The company had plants in Manitowoc and Two Rivers, Wisconsin.
