This archive focuses on the political affairs of Laos in the 1960s, when the United States supported the government of Souvanna Phouma in the face of North Vietnamese aggression. This digitized archive of U.S. State Department files collected by U.S. diplomats, documents the internal and foreign affairs of Laos during the period of 1963 to 1966. Materials include reports on political and military affairs; studies on socioeconomic matters; transcripts of communications of U.S. diplomatic personnel and from political assemblies; reports and translations from foreign journals and newspapers; and translations foreign government documents, speeches, memoranda.
