Primary source materials covering the First World War; covering experiences of soldiers, civilians and governments on both sides of a conflict; propaganda and recruitment; and visual perspectives, sourced from archives and collections around the world. The materials are arranged into four modules: 1) "Personal Experiences" covers how people lived their lives during the Great War; 2) “Propaganda and Recruitment” offers an array of international perspectives with material from the US, Great Britain, Germany, France, Belgium and more; 3) “Visual Perspectives and Narratives“ gives international perspectives on the conflict, the Home Front, the role of women during the war; and 4) “A Global Conflict” brings focus to the global nature of the war, in and beyond the European theatres.
