DescriptionThis searchable archive from the holdings of the British Library, is comprised of daily and weekly newspapers originating in England, Scotland and Ireland. Also known as the 19th Century British Library Newspapers Collection, it contains a broad range of national and regional newspapers from Victorian Britain. Materials in the collection include examples of early photography, as well as essays and contextual material from the British Library. The collection provides a broad, yet detailed view of British life and culture in the 19th century, covering business, sports, politics, entertainment, and the arts. The contents are also available for text analysis and data mining through Gale's Digital Scholar Lab (separate entry in Database Library or catalog). UW-Madison's access is currently limited to Part I and Part II. (Not updated, complete)
