Cazoodle, Inc. and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign have entered into a licensing agreement regarding the Illinois Researcher Information Service (IRIS). Cazoodle will takeover the IRIS grant search service and utilize its experience in building vertical search engines to strengthen IRISs features by increasing the coverage of grant opportunities and by improving the way researchers seek new opportunities. The Illinois Researcher Information Service is a database of more than 8,000 federal and private funding opportunites in the sciences, social sciences, arts, and the humanities. Upcoming deadlines in 25 subject areas can be viewed. The database can be searched by sponsor, keyword, deadlines, all fields, activities supported, residency, and more. Entry results include hyperlinks to email, web addresses, and online application forms when available by the sponsor. IRIS also includes an email funding update service, "IRIS Alert Service," available to subscribers, as well as an "IRIS Expertise Service" for faculty who wish to record and match research interests.
