The Lothar Meggendorfer collection includes over one hundred items, primarily printing specimens of text samples and pictorial cover labels. Included are proofs of illustrations, covers, texts and publishing advertisements, largely acquired from the collection of his second publishing house, J.F. Schreiber of Esslingen, collected by Herbert H. Hosmer. The collection is especially dense with colored specimen proofs of foreign edition covers, as well as some printed advertisements. Most of the items are listed in and referenced from the Justin G. Schiller auction catalog of the J. F. Schreiber sale of Meggendorfer materials.
