  • Literary, religious and historical manuscripts including genealogies, biographies and local histories largely pertaining to Mali, but also relating to Senegal and the Sudan, expecially in the French colonial correspondence from Senegal.
  • Reels 8-12 (= 8:1-5) were originally filmed in Mali for William A. Brown for use in his dissertation, "The Caliphate of Hamdullahi, ca. 1818-1864" (Ph. D., Univ. of Wisconsin, 1969).
