Legislative papers of Sensenbrenner, a Republican congressman who represented the northern Milwaukee suburbs in the Wisconsin Assembly and Senate (1969-1978), then served in the House of Representatives. The bulk of the material is correspondence from constituents, colleagues, advocacy groups, and state and legislative agencies and materials on specific legislation and committee assignments. Also included are sampled constituent assists; personal correspondence; and newsletters, columns, questionnaire summaries, press releases, biographical clippings, and other public relations materials. Especially well documented topics include Sensenbrenner's expertise in educational finance, the state budget, and his membership on the Ethics and Judiciary committees.
