It considers how children use their imaginations and how that can often help them solve a problem, even before they can verbalise their ideas. It shows how children look for patterns and make links between things and how once children have had an idea they need to work out how to make it happen, combining the creative process with critical thinking to come up with an effective solution. It also examines how to create a supportive learning environment for children to come up with their own ideas and to make links between them is essential.
