The FBI wants to secure a murder suspect's testimony against a corrupt law firm. David Child's girlfriend was murdered, the weapon was in his car, he was covered in gunshot residue, and the security video showed no one else entering the apartment. Con artist-turned-lawyer Eddie Flynn is being blackmailed to get him to take a plea bargain, but he begins to believe Child is innocent, in spite of the evidence.
