Summary

  • A collection of footage including the U.S.S. Wisconsin firing in battle, inside views of the ship, the daily life of the ship's crew, the naval battle of Jutland, Pearl Harbor, President Franklin Roosevelt's Great White Fleet, the first U.S. satellite explorer, the Soviet Union's Sputnik satellite, and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. Also includes a promotional spot for President Eisenhower's People-to-People plan.

  • Tape was originally used in an exhibit at the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, "The Last Battleship," which ran from August 16, 1988 to January 22, 1989.
