Records of Det Nationale Afholdsforbund (Norwegian National Total Abstinence Union), which was organized in the late 1880s or early 1890s to promote temperance among Norwegians in the upper Midwest, particularly Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and the Dakotas where it had state and local chapters. The papers include correspondence, minutes of meetings, and membership and financial reports of Det Nationale Afholdsforbund as well as semi-annual reports from each chapter which summarize financial and membership records. All papers are in Norwegian and have not been translated.
