Autobiography by Robert Fargo of his youth in the dairy farming community of Churchville, Conn., and in Genesee County, New York; his travel by train to Wisconsin in 1847; and his years in Lake Mills, Wisconsin, as a merchant, farmer, banker, and telegraph operator, and an 1885 trip by train to California; plus a historical sketch of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Lake Mills, written by Fargo for the semi-centennial celebration. The autobiography makes frequent reference to Fargo's brother Lyman and long-time friend George Savage.
