Photographs and films made and collected by Rudy Burkhalter, Madison, Wis., music teacher and musician. Photographs include images of Burkhalter, accordian players, music students, and the Tony Salerno Orchestra. Moving image material includes the Monroe Street area and Capitol Square, ca. 1941-1948. The collection also includes ephemeral material advertising Burkhalter's accordian teaching, programs from performances, as well as sheet music he collected. In addition to teaching, Burkhalter had a large accordian orchestra, a large marimba orchestra, and a small group. He also published his own sheet music.
