Records of the Wisconsin state securities commissioner pertaining to two hearings held by commissioners Jeffrey Bartell and Richard Malmgren in 1978 and 1982, respectively. The hearings concerned two separate buyout attempts of Milwaukee-based Pabst Brewing Company. In 1978 the commissioner's decision blocked a tender offer from the APL Corporation, and in 1982 the commissioner allowed for a proxy stock buyout attempt by Irwin Jacobs and Associates. That proxy fight was lost by Jacobs at a meeting of stockholders.
