Summary

  • Brief papers of Ernst G. Fischer of Pembine, Wisconsin concerning his time as an exchange teacher in Germany, 1913-1914. Included is an undated report to the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching about his experiences, a paper on the vocational training of women in Germany, and other miscellaneous reports and class notes, several in German. Also included are typed copies of two letters from a German family with whom Fischer was acquainted: one 1934 letter from Werner Winter writing from Paris about conditions there and in Germany and his own anti-Jewish views and another from Berlin from Winter's mother about his death in 1939.
