Papers of Amos Vogel, 1947-1986, documenting his work as the director of the New York Film Festival and the film department at Lincoln Center, as a film consultant for Grove Press, and as the director of the Annenberg Cinematheque and a professor at the Annenberg School of Communications (University of Pennsylvania). Includes Vogel's screening notes, correspondence, and administrative materials, as well as distributor catalogs, film festival programs, subject files, clippings, and other film-related materials collected during Vogel's career. Film prints, also collected through Vogel's experience as a programmer, distributor, and educator, are primarily independent domestic and international short films. Also includes a little material relating to programming for the Cinema 16 film society and Vogel's book Film as a Subversive Art.
