Records of the council, founded in 1898 to work with the National Council of Churches. The collection contains mainly official records and correspondence of the council and its agencies, the Interdenominational Youth Program, Laymen's Conference, Pastors' Conference, and Vacation Bible Institute. Activities discussed in the papers are often of a civic, educational, or legislative nature. Many of the files are those of Ellis H. Dana, an officer of the council. An early name of the council was the Wisconsin Federation of Churches and Christian Workers; the current name is the Wisconsin Conference of Churches.
The processed portion of this collection is summarized above, dates 1875, 1904-1959, and is described in the register. Additional accessions date 1924-1987 and are described in the holdings.
