Summary

  • Jerry Raha is a lifelong resident of Gays Mills, WI. Mr. Raha recalls the composition of buildings on Main Street in the past and how businesses have come and gone. Raha relates community activities, store ownership in the 60s and 70s, and river recreation. Mr. Raha relates experiences from the flooding of 1951 through present, speaking of the flood recovery, insurance, and community response. Mr. Raha discusses the history of the flood relocation project and his involvement in local politics in the community.
