Director Lucia Murat chronicles her family relationships, with emphasis on her brother Heitor. Along with Miguel, another brother, they were revolutionaries during the Brazilian dictatorship of the 1970s. Their parents sent Heitor to London to keep him from being imprisoned, and there he experiments with radicalism and drugs. He also becomes interested in Indian spiritualism and moves to India. The film revolves around the letters that Heitor wrote home and includes historical reenactments featuring the actor Caio Blat.
