Summary

  • David Brancaccio interviews filmmaker Laura Poitras who spent eight months in Iraq documenting the life of an Iraqi medical doctor and his family. In this interview Laura discusses her film "My country, my country" which is an intimate portrait of Iraqis living under U.S. occupation. "The principal focus is Dr. Riyadh (Riyadh al-Adhadh), an Iraqi medical doctor, father of six, and Sunni political candidate who is an outspoken critic of the occupation but passionate about the need to establish democracy in Iraq."
